A Blind Bargain | FILM | On set Dresser

BLIND BARGAIN | 50D, 250D, 500T 16mm + Double-X B&W 35mm

This film is a homage to a lost horror film which starred Lon Chaney. Inspired by a handful of remaining old photographs and newspaper reviews, this version is set in 1970 but commits to the same sense of dread and catastrophe as the original story about a young man who allows a psychotic doctor to experiment on his mother.

When you shoot a period piece on film and watch your first batch of dailies the following day, you feel transported to another time. It is immediate and beautiful in a painterly sort of way, you don’t have to force it to convey it.
